Who Sarah Works With + Sarah's Approach

Sarah Gomaa

Sarah utilizes an eclectic approach to therapy while drawing on a variety of interventions such as CBT, EFT, Psychodynamic, and other therapies targeted to help individuals and couples. When working with individuals, Sarah focuses on core issues of co-dependence, boundaries, core beliefs, self-esteem, relationship issues, childhood trauma or family system dysfunction, among others. She creates an integrative action plan to dive into the root issues and create deep insight for change. Sarah enjoys working with women and men from diverse backgrounds and communities and also incorporates the use of culturally informed therapeutic techniques.

In Sarah's work with her couples, she utilizes her foundation as a certified Level 3 Gottman Method expert to establish a solid framework to begin on. She works with all couples; Married, cohabitating, dating, or engaged, blended families, and all others who are experiencing conflict and do not know where to turn. This could include issues with trust, infidelity, miscommunication, contemplating divorce, dissatisfied partner in the relationship, in-law/family issues, or co-parenting issues. Sarah also uses additional therapeutic techniques such as Imago Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and when appropriate, Discernment Counseling. This allows her to use an all-encompassing approach based on her clients needs to focus on deepening connections, while processing emotional wounds, resolving conflict, and improving communication.

Sarah views therapy as a partnership, believing that everyone can overcome any obstacles they face with the right tools and guidance. With her passion for lasting growth and change, she aids in guiding her clients to understand the root cause of behaviors, validation, and empower awareness of their needs, values, and emotions, leading towards the ability to thrive!
